Privacy Policy
What Rumor Village (https://uwasa-mura.jp/, "the site") collects and how it is used.
1. What is collected
Kept on your device
Your progress, settings and records are stored in your browser (localStorage). They are not sent anywhere automatically. Clearing your browser data clears them.
Sent to the server
When you use a feature that needs the network — the leaderboard, cloud save, or sharing a puzzle you made — the following is sent:
- An anonymous user ID, generated automatically and not linked to any name or email address
- A device identifier generated by the site (a random value, not your hardware ID)
- Your display name, if you set one
- Play records: date, difficulty, time taken, mistakes, puzzles cleared, day streak
- Where you came from: the
?from=value on a shared link, so we can see which announcements reached people
Never collected
No name, address, phone number, email address, date of birth, location or contact list. There are no accounts.
2. Why
- To show leaderboards, save and transfer your records, and serve puzzles other people made
- To detect impossible scores
- To count which screens are used, so the site can be improved
3. Where it is stored
The database runs on Supabase and the site is served by Vercel. Both include servers outside Japan.
4. Cookies
The site itself does not use cookies. Progress is kept in localStorage.
5. Advertising
The site may use third-party advertising services such as Google AdSense. Ad vendors may use cookies to show ads based on your interests.
- You can turn off personalised advertising at Google Ad Settings.
- You can opt out of third-party vendors at aboutads.info.
- See How Google uses cookies in advertising for details.
Only opt-in rewarded ads are planned — the kind you choose to watch in exchange for a hint. Nothing will interrupt a puzzle.
6. Sharing with others
Collected information is not shared with third parties except where required by law.
7. Deleting your records
Clearing your browser data removes everything held on your device. To have server-side records removed, write to the address below; your display name is enough to find them.
8. Children
The site is not directed at any particular age group, and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes
Changes to this policy are published on this page.
