About
Rumor Village is an original pencil puzzle. A rumor travels through a village one house a day, and you work out where the fences are from the day each house heard it.
What kind of puzzle is it
A rumor is born at the well and moves to a neighbouring house every day. Each house remembers the day it heard. Your job is to put fences between houses so the record comes out exactly right.
You draw lines rather than filling in numbers. The rules fit in four lines, but on a 6×6 board the last fence can take a while.

- Free play — any difficulty, as many as you like
- Make your own — draw a village and share it by URL
Solving villages grows a village of your own: people arrive, buildings go up, and the seasons change.
Who makes it
Made by one person, from the puzzle generator to the pixel art. There is a longer account at the bottom of the records tab in the game.
How it runs
- It is a web app. Add it to your home screen and it works offline
- Supabase holds leaderboards and cloud saves; Vercel serves the site
- No accounts, no names, no email addresses (privacy policy)
